As much as I would like to wish you a new month…
(Let’s have a heart-to-heart chat).
So today during devotion, the word that stood out for me as we were having our
usual morning prayers was Deut 28:12 specifically the line, “The Lord shall bless
the works of your hands.”
Which is something that has been my mantra, but this time round I had to
meditate on it and see what’s more in it.
The blessing in Hebrew:
- Increase
- To be granted special favor by God with resulting prosperity and joy.
One thing I realized as I was meditating is that for an increase to happen there
has to be something going on.
If you render a service, you are paid, right? And so the blessing needs something
to work on; the blessing doesn’t work on anything.
The blessing is the super on the natural, and that is what gives supernatural.
That means that if you have nothing that the blessing can work on, you need to
get something that you can work on with your hands (Skills that you have
acquired, God-given talents).
One of the things I have realized is that a lot of times we consciously or
unconsciously want to stay on the same level each day and that breeds mediocrity.
We don’t want to be excellence-driven.
And that’s why sometimes you will find out that so-and-so has increased and prospered.
And somehow you ask what is s(he) doing that I am not doing?
Why are clients flocking to her?
It could be that how she packages her products is drawing clients, her customer
service is top-notch, and her promise is reliable.
If you and I as believers carry the mind of Christ, ask yourself: would Jesus, being
in my space or place of work, do what I am doing?
Afterward, I got to study these two people:
Solomon and David, one common denominator was excellence and prosperity.
Solomon conducted the affairs of the palace with so much excellence that when
the Queen heard she was overwhelmed with his wisdom, his palace, the food she
had there, the way his officials were organized, the clothing, and even his
servants.
Solomon’s entire entourage was something to behold. The Queen of Sheba had
heard much about King Solomon’s reputation, and when she saw it for herself,
she realized that his wisdom and prosperity were even greater than the stories
she had heard and her imagination. And David, as for every matter of expertise
and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten
times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
One thing that stood out with these two was that you need to package the
works of your hands with so much excellence that when people notice it, they
recommend you. Do an excellent job that when your name is mentioned, people
want to work with you.
This brought hope and light in my thinking because now as I am evaluating my
Q1 with my ladies Elizabeth M Jilani Elizabeth Nyambura C. PMP® CEM® Beatrice kariuki the questions that ring in my mind are:
1. What challenges hindered you from being excellent?
2. What bad habits did you develop that hindered your service delivery?
3. Did you take time to level up and add your knowledge?
4. What are you willing to start, stop, or continue to make your Q2 better than Q1?
As much as we are all hyped by welcoming each other to Q2, the question is
what will you change, improve, or continue that will make your Q2 better?
Let’s sharpen our minds, develop ourselves, and get better at what we do.
I OFFICIALLY WELCOME YOU TO Q2.
GO BIGGER, GROW DEEPER, AND DO IT EXCELLENTLY.”
PS:What are you willing to change this Q2 and be intentional about?
